Pikari - Large Hanau lidded grail - .800 hopea
A large and magnificent solid silver chalice and its cover, measuring circa 33,7cm in height and weighing 650g, repoussé decorated with neoclassical scenes between rocaille, foliage and grapevines, the lid adorned with a putto holding up a bowl in his right hand, a corn husk in his left. Stamped to the rim with suite of hallmarks, possibly Hanau late 19th century.
Condition: overall very good A few grass stalks adjacent to the putto broken, no further significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.
