Such devotional certificates were presented to young Catholics upon receiving their First Communion, to be framed and kept as a lifelong religious keepsake. Produced by the leading French Catholic publishers Bonamy and Bouquard Fils, these chromolithographs exemplify the refined devotional art of France between the wars. Condition: Both prints in good overall condition, colours fresh and vivid. The smaller frame (1926) has visible losses to the plaster ornamentation. Glass and backing original.
