Mossburn Distillers & Blenders is a subsidiary of the Dutch group Marussia Beverages BV established in 2013. It is the owner of Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye (distilling since January 2017) and the publisher of whisky. "Mossburn Vintage Cask" is a small series of Scottish single malts bottled in a single cask version. The thirtieth entry in the series (batch 10.0407.30) was Auchroisk distilled in 2007, finished in a Bordeaux red cask and bottled at 46% abv and without cold filtration on November 17, 2021. Founded in 1974, Auchroisk Distillery is based in Speyside and belongs to the Diageo Group. The plant is equipped with four pairs of pot stills and produces almost 6 million liters of spirit per year. Nose: balanced, ripe red berries, malted barley, red apples, vanilla, toffee, peppercorns, hints of cinnamon and toasted oak. Palate: malted barley, vanilla, butterscotch, honey, raspberries, red grapes, cranberries, black pepper, hints of aniseed, ginger and oak. Finish: medium long, with notes of red berries, dark chocolate, toffee, black pepper and toasted oak.
