Description fournie par le vendeur
COLONELLO VINEYARD
Barolo DOCG classification
Vintage 2015
100% Nebbiolo variety
Climate
2015 began with a winter characterized by frequent snowfalls that guaranteed the accumulation of an excellent water reserve. A spring with mild temperatures favored an advance of the vegetative cycle that lasted for the whole year. The following period was characterized by a climate that tended to be dry and with temperatures above the historical average until the end of August.
The climate did not affect the ripening of the grapes in the slightest, thanks also to the water reserves present in the soil. The Nebbiolo harvest for the Vigna Colonnello took place on September 25.
Vinification and aging
Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes were crushed and only 65% éraflés. The maceration, which took place in stainless steel tanks, took about 7 days at a maximum temperature of 30 °C. Malolactic fermentation ended before the end of winter. The maturation took place in French oak woods of different capacities for 18 months and for 24 months in steel. The wine has aged 24 months in the bottle before it was released on the market.
