The AERIAL VIEWS THE BOG PHOTO SERIES:

These elevated view images show close ups of plants and leafs in swamps in Estonia. The swamps are often protected in national parks such as in the Lahemaa National Park. Former peat extraction areas are being renatured to swamps again.
The Bog is an excellent carbon dioxide storage facilities that can store six times more CO2 compared to forests.

THE ARTIST:

Depuis 2010, Bernhard Lang capture la surface de la Terre dans sa série photographique "Aerial Views".
Pour prendre ces clichés depuis les cieux, Lang décolle en hélicoptère et en petits aéronefs.

Il cherche à découvrir des motifs et des structures intéressants à la surface de notre planète. Il accorde également un intérêt particulier à capturer des images qui montrent l’impact des activités humaines sur la nature et l’environnement.
Les images de Lang nous libèrent des contraintes gravitationnelles et permettent d’adopter un regard plus détaché sur le monde et sur notre influence — tant positive que négative. C’est cette dualité que Lang cherche le plus à explorer à travers son travail, l’étrange équilibre entre beauté et destruction, et la lutte constante pour une symbiose entre l’humanité et la Terre que nous habitons.
