Super Bikkuriman : Phoenix Original Production Cel Setup (Toei Animation, 1992)
Showcased in this lot is an exceptional original production cel of Phoenix, the fiery protagonist and leader of a group of Angels that fight off high-tech Devils to save the Earth. Crafted over 30 years ago for the third anime iteration of Bikkuriman, a franchise known for their wafer snacks and their highly collectible stickers, known as Super Bikkuriman. The story of this series has the world divided into three areas for Angels, Devils, and Earthly creatures, and kicks off when the Devils start using technology to create biotechnological machines to attack the Earth. This leads to the Angel, Phoenix, taking on his mission to save the world from this new age of Devils. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a unique piece of Bikkuriman production artwork! Also included is a 12 field animation drawing that is affixed to the cel's paint. Observing from the back a barely legible drawing of Phoenix's mouth and face outline can be seen. The cel setup is in very good condition with light handling wear, light debris, aged tape in the top corners between the cel layers, and partial linework fading from age.
