KBL Octagon Collector's Lighter – Vintage Art and Mechanics
This remarkable piece represents a perfect fusion between 1950s Japanese engineering and the finesse of classic craftsmanship. The Octagon model, produced by the renowned KBL brand, is distinguished by an imposing presence and a semi-automatic mechanism of rare reliability, being perfectly functional even today.
The case is dressed in a spectacular baroque floral decoration. The sumptuous details of the acanthus leaves come to life thanks to the manual work, where each chisel cut offers uniqueness. The subtle imperfections and variations in depth of the engraving are the living "imprint" of the craftsman, giving the metal a texture and depth that industrial processes cannot replicate.
Made on a solid brass base and finished with a noble silver/chrome layer, the lighter proudly bears an authentic patina. Controlled oxidation zones in the depth of the engraving highlight the rich relief, creating a play of light and shadow that attracts every eye.
Its octagonal shape, stamped on the base, gives it excellent ergonomics and a robust appearance, typical of luxury objects from the "Golden Age" of smoking accessories.
The rocker arm and wick system works flawlessly, demonstrating the superior quality of the materials used and the care with which it has been maintained over the decades.
More than a simple tool for lighting a fire, this KBL Octagon lighter is a small portable work of art. It is a piece de resistance for any collector who appreciates objects with soul, where the human hand has left a permanent trace of beauty
