Le Acmel MD a été lancé pour la première fois en 1991 au Japon, fabriqué par une société appelée Nikoh. L'appareil photo utilise un film Minox spécial. Le modèle présenté, un Revue MD, est un rebranding de l'original, Minox. Il dispose d'un méter CdS et de vitesses lentes jusqu'à 2 s. Il y avait des versions argentées et noires. La Minox MX est un tel rebranding. Il n'est en aucun cas comparable au MD.
