About the Artist
Hodaka Yoshida (吉田穂高) was a prominent Japanese modernist artist and member of the distinguished Yoshida artistic family. Beginning his career as an oil painter, he turned to woodblock printmaking in 1950, developing a highly original visual language that combined abstraction, symbolism, and architectural motifs.
