Trance, une peinture à l'huile du Royaume‑Uni, réalisée en 2026 et appartenant à la période 2020+.
Description fournie par le vendeur
In Trance, Jakub Nowicki presents a mysterious female figure suspended between dream and contemplation. Her closed eyes and gently inclined head suggest a state of inner stillness, while a vivid crimson halo frames her face with almost sacred intensity. Cascading copper hair flows through the composition like a stream of light, contrasting with the dark, atmospheric drapery that envelops her body.
Executed with expressive brushwork and subtle tonal transitions, the painting merges contemporary symbolism with echoes of religious iconography and Romantic portraiture. The muted green background and restrained palette heighten the emotional resonance of the work, creating a quiet tension between serenity and melancholy.
Trance explores themes of introspection, memory and spiritual presence, inviting the viewer into a moment of silence and reflection. The elongated composition and dramatic contrasts give the work a timeless quality that feels both ancient and strikingly contemporary.
