ML Diktovox D1 Magnetic Disc Dictation Machine | Hungary, 1967
Rare professional dictation machine made by Mechanikai Laboratórium (ML), Budapest – the same Hungarian manufacturer behind the Riporter 5 and Riporter 6 professional reel-to-reel recorders. The Diktovox records on magnetic discs rather than tape, giving it a recording capacity of 2 × 10 minutes per disc.
Specifications:
Recording medium: magnetic disc
Recording time: 2 × 10 minutes
Dimensions: 350 × 350 × 150 mm
Mechanikai Laboratórium produced professional audio equipment primarily for Hungarian broadcasting, industry, and public institutions. The Diktovox is among the rarest of their products ; magnetic disc dictation machines were a short-lived format, and Hungarian-manufactured examples are essentially absent from the international collector market.
In working condition. Extremely scarce – no comparable listings found online.
