Un magnifique bracelet ethnique en argent, fait main et caractéristique, originaire de la région du Rajasthan, en Inde. Ce type de bijou a été fabriqué vers le milieu du XXe siècle (environ 1950–1970), souvent destiné au marché d’exportation précoce et aux collectionneurs.
Le bracelet se compose de plusieurs brins souples et finement tissés d’un fil d’argent qui se rejoignent en de jolis embouts argentés richement travaillés, ornés de motifs floraux. Le fermoir central est gravé à l’avant de l’image d’un poisson sacré (Matsya), symbole protecteur important dans l’hindouisme (la première avatar du dieu Vishnu). Le bracelet se ferme grâce à un mécanisme traditionnel ingénieux à vis ou à goupille.
Comme ce bijou n’est pas marqué selon les standards modernes occidentaux, il a été soumis avec succès à un test magnétique afin d’écarter la présence d’un noyau en fer. Ce type de bijoux indiens traditionnels présente généralement une teneur en argent continentale ou inférieure (variant entre .600 et .925 argent sterling).

The central clasp is engraved on the front with the image of a sacred fish (Matsya), an important protective symbol in Hinduism representing the first avatar of the god Vishnu. The bracelet closes securely with a traditional and clever screw or pin-lock mechanism.
Since this item does not feature modern Western hallmarks, it has been successfully subjected to a magnet test to exclude the presence of an iron core. This type of traditional Indian jewelry typically features a continental or lower silver content (ranging between .600 and .925 sterling silver).
