Bouquet de Roses, une nature morte à l’huile sur toile de Maurice Schwab (France), 1970–1980, vendue avec cadre en bois doré, dimensions 40 × 50 cm sur toile et 65 × 55 cm encadré, en bon état.
Description fournie par le vendeur
beautiful and accomplished oil on canvas floral still life depicting an abundant bouquet of yellow and deep crimson roses arranged in a rounded blue-green glass vase, with several fallen blooms resting on the surface below. The composition is rendered with confident, expressive brushwork against a warm grey-blue tonal background, in the tradition of the French academic floral school with a touch of impressionism.
The palette — luminous cream-yellow roses accented by dark burgundy blooms against deep teal foliage — gives the work a rich and atmospheric quality characteristic of Maurice Schwab, a French 20th-century painter known for his flower still lifes and Provençal landscapes.
