Description fournie par le vendeur
Monkey 47 Distiller's Cut 2020 is a highly collectible, limited-edition release that stands out from almost all other annual editions for one main reason: instead of adding a 48th botanical to the recipe, the gin was aged in Mizunara oak casks.Produced by Black Forest Distillers in Germany, this version combines the complexity of the original 47 botanicals with the rarity of the iconic Japanese wood.
The Secret of the 2020 Edition: Mizunara OakEvery year, Monkey 47 releases its Distiller's Cut by hunting for a "species rara" (rare ingredient). In 2020, founder Alexander Stein managed to acquire just five Mizunara oak casks.Rare Wood: Mizunara trees must be at least 150 years old before the wood can be crafted into barrels.Challenging Process: The short staves break easily when bent, making the production of these 500-liter casks an extremely difficult and expensive process.
Tasting Notes and Flavor ProfileContact with the Mizunara oak infused the gin with a subtle golden hue and transformed its traditional aromatic profile:Appearance: A very subtle and bright yellow-gold tint.Aroma: Soft woody notes, featuring a refined top note of sandalwood and a light hint of coconut.Paladar: Extremely dry. Juniper sits at the core, accompanied by warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, balanced by a fresh hint of mint.Finish: Very dry and floral, leaving lingering notes of leather, incense, and potpourri.
Technical SpecificationsAlcohol by Volume (ABV): 47% Vol.Capacity: Traditional 500 ml apothecary bottle (or 375 ml in specific markets like the USA).Base: The original 47 botanicals from the Black Forest (including lingonberries, spruce, and elderflower).
[Please note: as this is a professional seller (“PRO” next to name), bottle number shown in the pictures may be different from the number on the actual bottle you receive. Naturally, the condition will be identical.]
