Maroc tapis kilim plat Amazigh tissé à la main (Hanbel), laine sur laine, 115 cm sur 63 cm, multicolore, en bon état général.
Description fournie par le vendeur
Handwoven Moroccan Amazigh flatweave kilim rug (Hanbel), Morocco. This striking piece is structured around a bold, repeating large-scale chevron and mountain motif — a design deeply rooted in Amazigh symbolism, where mountain forms represent resilience and timelessness, and the chevron evokes water, continuity, and purification. The motif fills the entire central field with stacked, undulating triangular forms, each individually patterned in a different colour combination, creating a vibrant and visually complex composition.
The palette is exceptionally rich and multicoloured, including crimson red, cobalt blue, saffron yellow, olive green, orange, ivory, grey, dark brown, and purple — a hallmark of the expressive Moroccan Hanbel weaving tradition. The side borders feature alternating colour block bands in the same palette, framing the central field. Both ends retain their original natural cotton fringe.
The wool is notably fine and lightweight, consistent with flatweave construction. The rug functions equally well as a floor piece, a wall tapestry, or a decorative textile accent, and suits bohemian, eclectic, or contemporary interiors. Each piece is entirely unique, as each symbol and colour band is determined by the individual weaver.
Dimensions: 115 cm x 63 cm. Handwoven wool, flatweave construction, fringed on both ends.
Condition: Very good vintage condition (8/10). Very light wear traces on one side edge, barely visible. No holes, no repairs. Colours vibrant.
