Horloge mural Friesien néerlandais de type Staartklok, boîtier en bois avec cadran peint à la main, mécanisme mécanique à remontage 8 jours, sonnerie à l’heure et à la demi-heure sur une cloche, circa 1950–1960, en bon état de fonctionnement et mesurant 70 cm de haut sur 35 cm de large et 15 cm de profondeur.

Dutch Friesian wall clock, type “Staartklok”, circa 1960.
Beautiful working wooden Friesian clock with hand-painted dial.
The dial is hand-painted on wood with a Dutch landscape: windmill, farmhouses, trees and birds above the chapter ring. White chapter ring with black Roman numerals and Arabic minute markers, center with a gilt 8-point star. Gilt ornate hands.
Case in black painted wood with richly cast and gilded mounts:
- Gilt crest at top with two lions supporting a red and white striped shield
- Two cast mermaid figures on the sides holding horns
- Painted cherub head below the dial
- Red turned feet at base
Fitted with 3 brass chains and a gilt sunburst pendulum. Weight-driven 8-day movement. Strikes the hours and half-hours on a single bell.
Condition:
Good condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age. Hand-painted dial and mermaid figures intact. Movement in working order, keeps time and strikes correctly.
