A rare first edition of UKIYO, a collaborative art book that brings together the paintings of Yoshitomo Nara and the photography of Takashi Homma.

The title "UKIYO" is inspired by the Japanese concept of the "floating world." Traditionally, ukiyo referred to the fleeting, ever-changing nature of life and later became closely associated with the vibrant urban culture depicted in ukiyo-e woodblock prints of the Edo period. This book offers a contemporary interpretation of that idea through the unique combination of Nara's paintings and drawings with Homma's photography.

Created by two of Japan's most influential contemporary artists, this collaboration has become a sought-after publication among collectors.

Published approximately 27 years ago, this book is in good overall condition. As expected for its age, it shows normal age-related wear.

The obi (paper wraparound band) and the dust jacket show some age-related tanning, light wear, and minor creases. The hardcover has a small tear.
The interior pages are clean and well preserved, making it suitable for both reading and collecting.
