Description fournie par le vendeur

An elegant small French crystal decanter dating from the early 19th century, attributed to the renowned Cristallerie de Montcenis, one of the most important French crystal manufacturers.
Crafted from exceptionally clear and finely blown crystal, this refined decanter features delicate hand engraving depicting elegant vine branches, scrolling foliage and botanical motifs, a highly appreciated decorative language of the Empire and early Restoration periods.
The harmonious proportions, lightweight execution and remarkable precision of the engraving reflect the exceptional craftsmanship of French crystal workshops of the period, when each piece was still largely shaped and decorated by hand.
Originally intended for refined table service, such small-format decanters were used for individual wine or liqueur service and were appreciated in aristocratic interiors for their elegance and delicacy.
A beautiful example of early French crystal artistry, representative of the transition between 18th-century craftsmanship and the great French crystal houses of the 19th century. Some traces on the base of the stopper (some missing). See photos. Carafe is perfectly clear and in amazing condition.
Height — 20 cm
Top diameter — 3.5 cm
Base diameter — 5.7 cm
Circumference — 22.3 cm
