« Annie Leibovitz 1995 », une collection d’œuvres de la photographe américaine Annie Leibovitz (née en 1949). While attending art school in San Francisco, she submitted her work to Rolling Stone magazine, where she was spotted by Editor-in-Chief Jan Wenner and immediately brought to New York. Her interview photos of John Lennon, taken there, earned her recognition; she joined the magazine’s staff in 1970 and became its chief photographer in 1973. In 1980, just hours after she photographed Lennon and Yoko Ono, Lennon was assassinated; the images she captured at that time were featured on the magazine’s cover and became part of a memorial issue dedicated to Lennon. This book is a catalog published to coincide with an exhibition in Japan that began at the Mitsukoshi Art Museum in Tokyo in 1995 and toured to Sendai, Yokohama, and Osaka; it features numerous portraits of prominent figures and celebrities from various fields.”
