Vintage Seagram’s Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Blended Canadian Whisky – 1964 Tax Stamp, Original Box & Purple Bag
Offered here is a classic sealed bottle of Seagram’s Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Blended Canadian Whisky from the mid-1960s, complete with its original blue presentation box and the iconic purple velvet drawstring bag embroidered in gold with “Crown Royal.”
Details visible on the bottle:
• Label: Seagram’s Crown Royal – Fine De Luxe – Blended Canadian Whisky
• Produced by Joseph E. Seagram & Sons Limited, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
• 80 Proof / 4/5 Quart (Fifth)
• Distinctive crown-shaped, diamond-cut glass bottle with the classic purple-curtain and gold-crown label
• Original cork closure with intact U.S. tax strip clearly dated 1964
History
Crown Royal was created by Samuel Bronfman / Seagram’s in 1939 as a special blend to honour the royal tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. For its first 25 years it remained exclusive to the Canadian market. In 1964 it was introduced more widely (including the United States), making bottles carrying a 1964 tax stamp particularly interesting as they date from the very beginning of the brand’s international era. The famous purple bag and ornate packaging have been part of the brand’s luxury identity from the start.
Condition (based on the photographs)
• Bottle appears full with a high fill level.
• Tax stamp and seal are intact and unbroken.
• Labels are clean, legible and show only minor age-related wear.
• Glass is clear with the characteristic cut-glass pattern well preserved.
• Original blue cardboard box is present and in good overall condition for its age.
• Original purple velvet bag with gold embroidery and drawstring is complete and in very good condition.
This is an attractive, complete set for collectors of vintage Canadian whisky, Seagram’s memorabilia, or mid-20th-century spirits packaging. The combination of the dated tax stamp, original box and bag makes it a desirable example from the early years of Crown Royal’s wider availability.
Please examine the photos carefully for exact condition. Sold as a collectible item; the contents are original and sealed.
