Description fournie par le vendeur
The Mhoba Select Reserve French Cask 65% Vol is a premium, artisanal Pure Single Rum, fully produced by the independent MHOBA Rum distillery in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.
Key Characteristics
Raw Material: Made exclusively from fresh juice of local sugarcane (the Nkomazi variety), rather than molasses.
Distillation: 100% distilled in traditional copper pot stills, designed and built by the founder himself, Robert Greaves.
Aging: Matured for 1 to 2 years in French oak casks that previously held Cape red wine. The barrels are refurbished and re-charred directly at the distillery.
Alcohol by Volume: Bottled at an impressive strength of 65% ABV (Cask Strength).
Purity: Contains no artificial colorings, added sugars, or flavor additives.
Flavor Profile (Tasting Notes)
According to expert reviews from platforms such as Rhum Attitude and Whisky.fr:
Nose: Intense notes of fresh sugarcane, ripe tropical fruits (mango and overripe mango), hints of spices (cinnamon), toffee, and a subtle woody, resinous presence.
Palate: Full-bodied and sweet entry, featuring a burst of tropical fruits balanced by dry, lingering tannins from the French oak.
Finish: Extremely long and warm, marked by wood spices and red fruit notes inherited from the red wine.
It is typically sold in 700ml or 750ml bottles, often packaged in a decorative bamboo or wooden box.
