This beautifully proportioned pitcher exemplifies the refined artistry of traditional French crystal production. Although unsigned, its exceptional quality, harmonious silhouette, and precise hand-cut decoration are characteristic of the finest French crystal workshops of the period.
The graceful baluster-shaped body is enhanced by a striking band of deeply cut diamond motifs that encircle the lower half, creating a captivating interplay of light and reflection. Above, the smooth, gently curving body allows the remarkable clarity of the crystal to take centre stage, while the elegantly shaped pouring spout and thick, sculptural applied handle provide both visual balance and practical refinement. The piece is completed by a substantial circular foot adorned with a star-cut base, adding brilliance and sophistication from every angle.
The crystal possesses outstanding transparency and luminosity, beautifully capturing and refracting light to create the sparkle.
