Little helper, peinture à l’huile sur bois du XIXe siècle par l’artiste allemand Hermann Pistor (1832–après 1866), datée 1873, signé à la main, origine Allemagne, en bon état et vendue avec son cadre; dimensions encadrées 34,5 × 27,5 cm (non encadré 24 × 17 cm).

Lovely scene with a little helper was executed in 1873 by listed German genre and portrait painter Hermann Pistor ( 1832 Neustrelitz - after 1866 Berlin). The artist studied at the Dresden Academy (1850-1851) and in Frankfurt a.M. under Jak.Becker. Since 1866 settled in Berlin.
In the collection of City Frankfurt a.M. is a genre painting by him.
Literature in German: artist lexicon by Thieme/Becker; Kunst und Künstler in Frankfurt a.M. by Weizsäcker and Dessoff, 1909; cataloque of Art Exhibition of the Berlin Academy, 1866.
Inscription: signed and dated 1873 lower right; metal plaque with artist's name , mounted to the original frame.
Technique: oil on wood, original gilt frame.
Measurements: unframed w. 9 1/3" x h. 6 3/4" (24 x 17 cm), framed w. 13 1/3" x h. 10 7/8" (34,5 x 27,5 cm).
Consition: very good.
