Description fournie par le vendeur

Rare and highly collectible lifetime edition of Gravity Disappeared by pioneering Russian scientist and visionary Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, one of the founding fathers of astronautics and space exploration.
Published in 1933 by Gosmashmetizdat (Moscow–Leningrad) as part of the “Youth Scientific and Technical Library” series, this is a true first edition issued during Tsiolkovsky’s lifetime and among the last of his books published before his death in 1935.
The work is a fascinating scientific-fiction essay exploring weightlessness, interplanetary travel, asteroids, and the future of humanity in space — decades before the beginning of the Space Age. Tsiolkovsky’s ideas would later inspire generations of Soviet rocket engineers and косmonauts.
Condition
Good antique condition considering age. Original illustrated wrappers preserved. Visible wear, edge losses, creasing, and signs of use consistent with a nearly 100-year-old publication. Interior generally well preserved with age toning and minor marks.
A rare and historically important early Soviet publication linking science fiction, cosmology, and the origins of space exploration. An excellent collectible for enthusiasts of rare scientific books, Soviet avant-garde culture, and the history of astronautics.
