Description fournie par le vendeur
An exceptional and highly decorative early 20th-century French crystal decanter, created in the refined tradition and aesthetic of the celebrated Baccarat and Saint-Louis crystal manufactories.
This impressive piece is distinguished by its sculptural and beautifully balanced silhouette. The broad, rounded body has a generous, almost spherical form, giving the decanter a commanding presence and emphasizing the remarkable weight and quality of the crystal. Its lower section is encircled by deep, regular vertical cutting, producing a rich play of light and magnificent reflections.
The body rises into an unusually long and elegant neck, decorated with pronounced vertical fluting that flows gracefully into the rounded shoulders. It is completed by a substantial faceted crystal stopper, which beautifully catches and refracts the light.
Made from remarkably heavy and luminous crystal, this decanter is a fine example of French craftsmanship from the beginning of the 20th century. Its elegant proportions and deeply cut decoration are characteristic of the prestigious crystal tradition associated with renowned French houses such as Baccarat and Saint-Louis. In sunlight, the crystal creates an especially beautiful display of brilliance, transparency and reflected light.
The decanter remains in good antique condition for its age, with normal traces of time and use. There are several chips to the stopper, an impact mark on the neck and some internal water traces. These imperfections are mentioned for complete accuracy and are consistent with the history of an authentic antique piece.
A rare, imposing and highly decorative French crystal decanter, combining monumental proportions, exceptional weight and timeless elegance.
