Pierre-Jean Amar, a French photographer and photography instructor, began exploring the female nude in 1980 after creating a metaphorical image of a woman's body in a natural setting. Since then, he has deepened this exploration through work on several series.

Pierre-Jean Amar has held over 150 exhibitions in France and abroad since 1965. His photographs are included in numerous public and private collections, such as the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Musée Nicéphore-Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône, and the Hartkamp, Polaroid, and Manfred Heiting collections, among others.
