Montcenis - Plateau - Cristal

An elegant round plateau attributed to Montcenis, crafted from substantial, beautifully clear crystal.
Its surface is delicately hand-engraved with a graceful wreath of cascading floral or fruiting clusters reminiscent of wisteria or small bunches of grapes interwoven with finely detailed leaves. The frosted engraving contrasts beautifully with the transparent crystal, while a refined border of hand-cut oval beading follows the outer edge.
The crystal has a satisfying weight, excellent optical clarity and the subtle greyish tone characteristic of antique crystal from this period. A sophisticated decorative and functional piece, ideal as a serving plateau, table centrepiece or addition to a fine crystal collection.
Perfect antique condition, with light surface scratches and minor wear consistent with age and use. These traces are most noticeable under strong lateral lighting and in close-up photographs. Some slight localised haziness may also be present, typical of crystal of this age, without affecting the beauty or structural integrity of the piece. No chips or cracks are visible the rim remains smooth and intact.
