**Description :**
Affascinante statua devozionale raffigurante il Sacro Cuore di Gesù, risalente alla prima metà del Novecento (1900-1940 circa). L'opera è di chiara manifattura artigianale e, dettaglio di grande pregio, è interamente intagliata a mano da un unico blocco di legno pieno (lavorazione monoxila).

La scultura presenta una sbozzatura piatta sul retro con evidenti e bellissimi segni di sgorbia, caratteristica tipica delle statue destinate ad essere collocate all'interno di nicchie o piccoli altari domestici. Sulla base è presente il foro originale di lavorazione utilizzato dall'artigiano per fissare il ciocco al banco o al tornio.

I tratti del volto sono decisi ed espressivi, lo sguardo è raccolto e rivolto verso il basso. Il Sacro Cuore è scolpito in forte rilievo sul petto, circondato da raggi con tracce di doratura d'epoca.

**État de conservation :**
L'objet se présente en bonnes conditions générales et conserve une splendide patine du temps. Présente les classiques et genuines signes d'âge qui garantissent son authenticité : petites et naturelles chutes de couleur sur les bords du drapé laissant entrevoir la préparation en plâtre en dessous, une fissure naturelle de retrait du bois sur le devant du vêtement (au-dessus du pied) et un fin réseau de craquelures sur la peinture du manteau bleu à l'arrière. Une ancienne finition brillante protectrice est présente sur la coiffure. Structurellement solide et stable.

**Description :**
Charming devotional statue depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus, dating back to the first half of the 20th century (circa 1900-1940). This piece is of clear artisanal craftsmanship and, a detail of great value, is entirely hand-carved from a single solid block of wood (monoxylous carving).

The sculpture features a flat-carved back with visible and beautiful gouge marks, a classic feature of statues intended to be placed inside niches or small home altars. The base still shows the original workshop hole used by the artisan to secure the wooden block to the workbench or lathe during carving.

The facial features are sharp and expressive, with a solemn, downward gaze. The Sacred Heart is carved in high relief on the chest, surrounded by rays showing traces of period gilding.

**Condition :**
The item is in good general condition, preserving a beautiful vintage patina. It displays classic and genuine signs of age that guarantee its authenticity: minor and natural paint loss along the edges of the drapery showing the underlying gesso preparation, a natural wood shrinkage crack on the front of the robe (above the foot), and a dense network of craquelé on the blue mantle's paint on the back. An old protective glossy finish is present on the hair. Structurally solid and stable.
