Terre cuite émaillée fabriquée en Italie, grand pichet zoomorphe en forme de coq sardinien avec bassin par CMA Oristano, circa années 1980, en bon état d’usage avec de petites traces d’âge; dimensions 30 cm de largeur, 25 cm de hauteur, 15 cm de profondeur.

C.M.A. Oristano – “Galletto” – Large Sardinian Zoomorphic Rooster Ewer with Basin – Glazed Terracotta – Circa 1991
Offered for sale from my private collection is a rare Sardinian zoomorphic ewer in the form of a rooster, complete with its matching basin.
The work was made by C.M.A. – Ceramica Maestri d’Arte of Oristano and is hand-signed “CMA OR”. It can be dated to the early 1990s.
An almost identical example, entitled “Galletto” and attributed to C.M.A., is documented in the Italian General Catalogue of Cultural Heritage under catalogue number 2000248511. It was presented at the 6th National Ceramics Competition in Assemini in 1991 and was subsequently purchased by the Municipality of Assemini. This reference is mentioned solely as a historical and museum comparison.
