Vintage Turkish Oushak Kilim – 308 x 165 cm – Blue Green Large Diamond Geometric Design – Handwoven

Description

A striking vintage Turkish Oushak kilim from Anatolia, distinguished by its exceptionally bold geometric composition and rich, saturated color palette.

Measuring 308 x 165 cm (approximately 10.1 x 5.4 ft), this large handwoven flatweave features a dramatic arrangement of oversized diamond medallions surrounded by traditional stepped geometric motifs.

The composition is dominated by beautiful shades of cobalt blue and emerald green, combined with burnt orange, turquoise, brown, black and subtle ivory accents. The strong contrast between these colors creates an exceptionally vibrant and architectural appearance.

Four large central diamond medallions form the visual backbone of the composition, while numerous surrounding geometric motifs create movement and depth across the entire field.

The bold scale of the design is particularly noteworthy. Rather than using small repetitive motifs, the weaver created a highly graphic composition with large forms that can be appreciated from across a room. This gives the kilim a surprisingly contemporary decorative quality despite its traditional Anatolian origins.

Its combination of saturated colors and tribal geometry makes it especially suitable for eclectic, Mediterranean, Bohemian, rustic, maximalist and contemporary interiors.

Natural variations in the weave, color and symmetry are characteristic of traditional handmade Anatolian textiles and contribute to the individual character of this piece.
