Massimo Pastore – Untitled – 2004 – Signed Original Photograph
Original black-and-white photograph by Italian visual artist and photographer Massimo Pastore, dated 2004.
The photograph presents a monumental human figure in a nude/figurative composition, photographed from a low viewpoint. The strong contrast between light and shadow, the elongated anatomy and the dramatic perspective give the figure a sculptural and almost architectural appearance.
The work belongs to the period of Pastore’s important “Monólithos” photographic project. In 2004, Monólithos was presented at the Complesso Monumentale di Santa Maria del Rifugio in Cava de’ Tirreni, Italy, and subsequently at Duplex in Paris. The project consisted of black-and-white photographic works exploring the human figure, emotions and human development.
This photograph is hand-signed and dated by Massimo Pastore on the reverse: “6-2-2004”. The reverse also carries the handwritten number 5.
