Dutch photographer Gijsbert Hanekroot (Brussels, 1945) started his career in 1969 and worked for magazines and newspapers in the 1970s. His career as a photojournalist fits in perfectly with the explosion of the rock scene and he masterfully documented this golden age of music history - and photographed many of the greatest icons of the time.
Gijsbert s'efforçait de capturer des images qui révélaient l'homme derrière le musicien. Cherchant à exprimer une vérité plus profonde sur ses sujets, il réalisait des portraits naturels et intimes, détendus et sincères.
