Max Svabinsky (1873-1962) - Untitled

Max Svabinsky (1873 Kromeriz - 1962 Prag).

Hand-signed etching. Circa 1900.

Sheet size: 29 x 22 cm.

Part of a collection of small-format etchings by the Czech artist, focusing primarily on daily life and agricultural labor in the early 20th century.

Minor signs of aging. Please see photographs.

By fusing Symbolism with Art Nouveau, Švabinský stood out for his amazing technical mastery with subtle gradations of shadows, velvety textures and a very sensual mystical atmosphere.
The most subtle art.
