Description fournie par le vendeur
An elegant lot of two French decanters attributed to Montcenis and Baccarat, dating respectively to the early and second half of the 19th century.
The smaller decanter features a gently rounded body, sloping shoulders and a slender neck with a flared rim. Its refined neoclassical decoration combines a gilded Greek-key frieze around the body with fine gold lines and a broad gold band around the neck.
The taller decanter has a cylindrical body, rounded shoulders and a long, slender neck. Delicate frosted decoration depicts vine leaves, bunches of grapes and curling tendrils, complemented by vertical rows of small engraved oval motifs. A rounded teardrop-shaped stopper completes its elegant silhouette.
A decorative ensemble bringing together geometric gilding and delicate botanical ornament, illustrating two distinct expressions of 19th-century French glassmaking. Bearing some traces of time and light micromissing on rim of one.
Height — 18.7; 22.8 cm
Top diameter — 3.5; 2.7 cm
Base diameter — 5.2; 6.8 cm
Circumference — 23.3; 26 cm
