Sotirio Sangiovese in Purezza takes its name from the founder of the winery, the great-great-grandfather of Giovanni Bulgari. Sotirio is the flagship wine of Podernuovo and is produced according to the finest winemaking traditions of the Siena region. This grand cru of the estate reflects the deep bond between the land, the people who work in the vineyard, and the vine itself. The wine displays a ruby-red color and develops many intriguing aromas, including violets, sage, basil, mint, tobacco, rhubarb, and red fruit. On the palate, it is persistent and long-lasting, dry and fresh, with refined tannins. The quality and elegance of Sotirio, which is aged in French oak barrels, make it exceptionally well suited to pair with meat dishes, preferably richly flavored and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, one bottle has been damaged, so there are only five bottles remaining in the case. Deze grand cru van het landgoed weerspiegelt de intense band tussen de aarde, de mensen die in de wijngaard werken en de wijnstok. De wijn heeft een robijnrode kleur en ontwikkelt vele interessante aroma’s zoals viooltjes, salie, basilicum, munt, tabak, rabarber en rood fruit. De smaak is aanhoudend en lang, droog en fris, met verfijnde tannines. De kwaliteit en elegantie van Sotirio, die rijpt in Franse eikenhouten vaten, maken hem uitstekend geschikt om te combineren met vleesgerechten, bij voorkeur gekruid en vol van smaak. 1 fles is helaas beschadigd daarom zijn er maar 5 flessen in de kist.
