Teáskanna - Kőedény - Hagi-yaki teás tál

Item Description This is a fine chawan (tea bowl) crafted in the Hagi-yaki (Hagi ware) tradition, one of Japan's most celebrated ceramic styles and revered in the tea ceremony world under the saying "Ichi-Raku, Ni-Hagi, San-Karatsu" — placing Hagi second only to Raku among tea wares. The bowl presents a graceful, slightly asymmetrical silhouette with a gently rounded body and a modest, unassuming foot ring (kōdai) characteristic of Hagi ware. The exterior surface is covered in a soft milky-white glaze with a fine overall kairagi (crazing) pattern — the delicate network of hairline cracks across the glaze that is a hallmark of authentic Hagi ware and intensifies in beauty with use over time, a phenomenon known as "Hagi no Nana-bake" (the seven transformations of Hagi). A dynamic iron-pigment brushwork motif — likely depicting a bird or abstract landscape — decorates one side of the exterior with loose, expressive strokes in dark brown, adding a touch of painterly vitality to the restrained surface. The interior is clean and undecorated, with the same warm off-white glaze showing subtle pooling and surface texture. The foot ring bears an impressed or painted artist's seal mark in iron pigment. The bowl comes accompanied by its original wooden storage box (tomobako), the lid of which is inscribed with "Hagi-yaki Chawan" along with calligraphy and a red seal, confirming this to be a signed artist work. This is a work by a named ceramicist, adding significant collectible and ceremonial value. A rare and elegant piece for collectors of Japanese ceramics, tea ceremony practitioners, or admirers of wabi-sabi aesthetics. Size Height: 7.5 cm Width: 12 cm Weight 217 g Condition The bowl is in good antique condition with age-appropriate crazing throughout the glaze; there is a small chip visible on the rim and minor kiln imperfections consistent with hand-crafted Hagi ware, with no restorations or cracks detected. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping. I appreciate your cooperation.
