Paio di bottiglie di sakè (Tokkuri) 薩摩焼 (Satsuma ware) — Motivo di drago, Giappone - Ceramica - Giappone - Periodo tardo Meiji – Taishō (circa fine XIX – inizio XX secolo)
This lot consists of a matching pair of Japanese Satsuma ware sake bottles (tokkuri), decorated with dynamic dragon motifs painted in traditional polychrome enamels over a finely crackled ivory glaze. The dragons appear amidst expressive, ink-like cloud forms, creating a strong contrast between the dark ground and vivid green, red, and gold details.
Both bottles feature a red-painted 薩摩 (Satsuma) mark on the base, and display classic Satsuma characteristics such as fine crackle glaze, hand-painted decoration, and warm, creamy clay body. The form and decoration suggest production during the late Meiji to Taishō period, when Satsuma wares were widely appreciated both domestically and for export.
The set shows light age-related wear, including two small scratches on the mouth rims, clearly visible in the photos, but remains an attractive and collectible example of Japanese ceramic art. Ideal for collectors of Satsuma ware, Japanese ceramics, or dragon-themed objects.
