Medievale, epoca delle crociate Argento Anello protettivo da crociata di una nobildonna estremamente rara con il Stella di Betlemme e il (Senza prezzo di riserva)

Such rings were worn not only as adornment but as intimate companions, carrying spiritual reassurance in a period marked by pilgrimage, conflict, and uncertainty. Comparable jewelry is well documented among women of status associated with the Crusades, including figures such as Eleanor of Aquitaine, whose participation in the Second Crusade exemplifies the prominent role of noblewomen in Crusader society. The combination of Christian symbolism, apotropaic motifs, and refined silver workmanship places this ring firmly within the material culture of the Crusader world, where faith and protection were inseparable from daily life. This finely crafted silver ring, attributed to the Crusader period (circa 12th–13th century AD), represents an exceptional example of medieval Christian devotional and apotropaic jewelry. Its refined proportions, full circumferential decoration, and symbolic complexity indicate that it was most likely worn by a noble lady or high-status female pilgrim. The bezel is engraved with a prominent star or rosette motif, commonly interpreted within a Crusader context as the Star of Bethlehem, a symbol of divine guidance, faith, and protection. The motif is carefully framed within a rectangular panel bordered by precise linear and beaded engraving, reflecting architectural influences found in medieval ecclesiastical art. Decoration continues uninterrupted across the shoulders and entirely around the band, a feature strongly associated with protective talismanic jewelry rather than purely ornamental rings. The band is divided into structured panels containing geometric forms, rosettes, and distinct eye-shaped motifs placed symmetrically on both sides. These watchful eyes are of particular significance. In medieval Christian belief, eye symbols functioned as apotropaic devices, believed to repel misfortune, envy, and harmful intent. Their balanced placement suggests deliberate symbolic intent, reinforcing the ring’s function as a personal amulet offering protection from all directions. Material: Solid silver Condition: Very good archaeological condition Size: 20mm
