A very aesthetic miniature featuring an apatite cluster with a prominent main crystal, which appears nicely accented by cream-colored blades of siderite. The apatite itself is extremely good quality, displaying excellent surface luster, geometry, and a strongly zoned interior that shows a thin opaque outside layer rich in fluid inclusions and a gemmy green core that lights up nicely with some minor backlighting. This piece comes from the classic Portuguese deposit of Panasqueira, a mine developed to exploit a series of tabular veins of Sn–W mineralization that have produced some of the finest sulfide and fluorapatite specimens in the world and definitely from Europe.
