Rotolo giapponese dei sette dei fortunati di Ema-shi Tsune sei - 江間氏常静Ema-shi Tsune sei - Giappone - XX secolo

A Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku), hand-painted on silk, depicting the Seven Lucky Gods (Shichifukujin) with Chinese-style child attendants (karadōji). Signed by Jōjō of the Ema family, the work reflects traditional auspicious iconography cherished in Japanese art for invoking good fortune, prosperity, and longevity. Executed in delicate brushwork with harmonious coloring, the painting balances lively human figures with refined compositional rhythm. Such scrolls were often displayed seasonally, especially during the New Year, as talismans of happiness and success. Mounted on silk with wooden roller ends (mokujiku), the scroll retains the elegance of classical presentation, suitable for alcove (tokonoma) display. Offered as an authentic hand-painted work of its period, this piece is both decorative and culturally meaningful, making it an excellent addition for collectors of Japanese painting, auspicious themes, and Buddhist–Shintō blended iconography in Edo–Meiji era art.
