He is a "Nihonga painter from Kyoto"京都日本画家 who was active from the "Meiji to the early "Showa period"明治~昭和初期. He studied under "Keinen Imō"今尾 景年(1845~1924), a leading figure in Kyoto’s painting world of the time, and inherited the orthodox lineage of the "Shijō-ha"四条派. A meticulous painter with a refined technique, his realistic and emotionally expressive style earned him comparisons to "Gōshun Matsumura"松村 呉春(1752~1811), extending into the "Taishō era"大正時代. This hanging scroll depicts萩 (hagi grass) and a pair of quails under a hazy full moon, evoking a charming autumn atmosphere.
