京都清水焼 Kyoto Shimizuyaki - Tazza da tè - Ceramica - Stella cadente occhio di drago

Note: This is not a tea bowl, but a sake cup. It is very small, so please be careful not to confuse it with a tea bowl. Also, the last photo is for reference only; the sake flask (tokkuri) is not included. This piece is from Kyoto’s Kyo-yaki / Kiyomizu-yaki tradition, by Yoshinori Izumi, titled Ryūsei (Meteor). It is also called “Dragon Eye” due to its eye-like shine resembling a dragon’s eye. The appearance changes depending on the viewing angle. As with most ceramics, each piece has a unique pattern, but techniques are used to replicate the design as closely as possible. Comes complete with its original wooden box.
