ACE Trains 0 - Locomotiva tender (1) - Locomotiva a tank 2-6-4 - British Rail

ACE Trains London "An O Gauge 2-6-4 Tank Locomotive" Description by the manufacturer: "William Staniers 3 cylinder 2-6-4 Tank locomotives for the London Tilbury and Southend section were built in 1934 as a batch of 37. The extra power was required to compete with the LNER on the section from Southend and early examples had top feeds without domes. Later examples had domes incorporating top feeds. The two cylinder version introduced between 1935 to 1943 worked throughout the LMS system as a mixed traffic locomotive and all versions survived through to post nationalised period and then worked on virtually all regions from the Southern to Scotland. One example was preserved." "In the world of coarse 0 scale model railways Marklin's version for Basset-Lowke in 1938 and the Northampton version that followed in 1940 were amongst the best of their class. Both were available in electric and clockwork. The ACE E/8 joins this tradition in presenting one of Britain's largest tank locomotives in all its splendor." "All metal construction" "All wheels flanged" "Sprung oval buffers" "Front and rear bogie sprung" "2R - off - 3R function switch" "Firebox glow in cab" "Operating smoke generator" "Operates on 0-24V DC" "Will run on radii down to 2ft" Livery: Gloss lined black Loco No. 2 cyl. B/Railways 42576 Originaly acquired in the early 2000s Please note: this locomotive has not been tested. It is part of a legacy and has only been used a handful of times to our knowledge. It has been kept in storage for over fifteen years.
