Initially, around 200 women designers under the age of 30 from all corners of the world were invited to participate. The Memory Containers project aimed to explore the typology of how food is presented and offered, and how these customs are intertwined with cultural and personal memories. The young designers were prompted with thought-provoking questions, such as the expectations and potential achievements of an object, the transformations an object undergoes as it moves between different cultures, and how objects become subjects of culture. Inspired by these profound inquiries, the Kalistò storage jars were conceived as true masterpieces. They encapsulate the essence of cultural and personal memories tied to the presentation and offering of food.
