The book is beautifully and colourfully illustrated with 49 single-sided tissue-guarded coloured plates on coated paper, including tissue-guarded frontispiece, by Aubrey Waterfield, 31 reproductions of paintings and sculpture, and 67 in-text illustrations. Text by St. Clair Braddeley and Lina Duff Gordon. Published by J. M. Dent & Co., London, 1904. Publisher’s original richly gilt decorated red cloth boards, with gilt design of Eagle, and gilt lettering on upper board and spine. Top page edges gilt. Book Dimensions: 23.5 x 17.5 cm and Number of Pages: 384 including appendix and index Weight over 1.5 kg unpackaged Condition The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm, and well bound. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and minor rubbings to head and foot of spine. Internally the book is in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Spotting to prelims but text is generally clean, and unmarked. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful book (Please see pictures).
