A lapis lazuli winged mythical creature carving with inscription from the ancient Central Asian or Mesopotamian culture.
1st millennium AD. or in the style of replica
In good condition. It has been cleaned partly , but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, grinding .Traces of use and age on its surface.
Purchased mid 90's in Strasbourg by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market .
