Paravento Byōbu - Carta, Legno, Uno schermo pieghevole byōbu a quattro pannelli raffigurante un gruppo di gruccioni manciuriani. - Giappone - Firmato
A four-panel screen depicting a group of Manchurian cranes, harmoniously arranged both in flight and on the ground, beside a large pine tree and rocks overlooking a river landscape.
In Japanese culture, the crane is a symbol of longevity, fidelity, and prosperity. It is believed to live for a thousand years and therefore represents the wish for a long and happy life.
The panels are framed by two elegant decorative silk borders and completed with a lacquered wooden frame.
Signed at the lower right.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
--- The byobu is in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
