A very fine Art Deco style silver box with camfer wood interior.
Hallmarked to the inside of the lid with 925s Sterling and SCF makers mark of S. Chr. Fogh - Copenhagen 1947 - 1973
Also inscribed july 5th 1885-1955 - For forest manager. N.S Knude with thank you from Count F.M Knuth
Frederik Marcus Knuth was a well known Danish Count and minister. He lived at the Knuthenborg castle which today has become the grounds of a large Safari park in southern Denmark. Knuth is today most remembered for being a member of the Danish Nazi party, DNSAP for which he went to prison. His son founded the safari park against his fathers will as a rebellion against him
Condition - In a good condition with some surface wear primarily to the lid.
