Half-vellum binding with printed boards. Subsequent edition of the complete letters of Paolo Manuzio in 12 books, first published posthumously in 1580. Comes with a collection of his prefaces, which are paginated separately. Comes with an engraved title vignette as well as several engraved initials. Rubbing, bumping, wear, soiling, and some damage to the boards and spine. The spine has several bookworm holes in it (see photos). Bookworm holes are also in the front and back endpapers. Both inner hinges are cracked, and only the top of the spine is still holding the text block. Bookwork holes in the inner edge of the first 12 pages. Pen markings on the title page. The first 7 pages are partially loose. Pencil markings on page 257, and pen markings on pages 365, 366, 374, 403, and 407. There is a tear at the bottom of page 387/388 which runs into the text (see photos). Pages 259 to the end have wormholes in the lower inner corner. The text is clear, and the binding is soft. Overall, and considering its age, a copy in fair+ condition.
