Hartung was a great painter for me, I studied him and saw some of his works live, to say that he used a fork is an understatement, he built his own tools.  As far as my pictorial research is concerned, the concept of engraved sign is understood as a primordial, free, unconstrained act, which refers to the inner light.  Unlike Hartung my engraved sign is put into a different context in terms of surface and tonal vibration.  I study the color and cut of the composition. My tools are scraper knives, rubber erasers, etc… Thanks again for your interest
